My mother-in-law is the queen of the sewing machine.
She made my wedding dress and all my bridesmaid dresses.
Lately she has been making these "neat-o" scarves and is now selling them on Etsy.ca
(Don't ya looooove Etsy? I do!)

Lots of patterns to choose from.
If you don't see something you like, I'm sure she'll find a fabric/pattern/colour that you're looking for.

They velcro around your neck - they'll fit anybody comfortably.
And, the "neat-o" part is when you shop, you just velcro it around your purse strap for convenience.
Never lose another scarf again!

Go check out JLynn's Traditions on Etsy.
Tell her, her favourite daughter-in-law sent you. ;)
I wanted to share how I made a few of the framed colourful & sparkly words of encouragement from a previous post about my creative space.

Here are the supplies I used:

Dollarama has these adorable frames for $1.

Wall Decor & More cartridge for Cricut machine. Lots of other words and phrases to choose from. See this project I made almost a year ago.

Glitter cardstock in bright colours, from Michaels store.
(I think the whole project took 10 minutes.)
My next project involves the whole toilet-paper roll craze that's been sweeping the crafting world for awhile.
So. Many. Possibilities.
Hoping today finds you inspired, creative & renewed!

I'm happy to share a few pics of my creative space which doubles as the family computer room.

Hubby made the shelf below almost 10 years ago.

It now houses my old mason jar collection, which keep a lot of my scrapbooking supplies handy.

The dresser belonged to my Husband as a child, now painted white (& a bit chippy).

It makes for great storage of all my crafty supplies.

The family picnic basket finds new use in colder months for more hidden storage.

Thanks for stoppin' by!

I made these little cuties as token gifts for the ladies who've attended our Women in the Word Bible Study during our 4 years of leadership.

They're filled with 2 types of candy, representing some key elements of what The Bible offers:
Hugs and Life Savers
I made them using my Cricut and the following:
Black cardstock, Don Juan Cart, Thanks @ 3/4"
White cardstock, Don Juan Cart, Thanks, Shadow @ 3/4"
Aqua cardstock, Forever Young Cart, Flower8, Purse @ 5 1/2"

I will truly miss this weekly time of sharing with these ladies once we move, but I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to grow together in our friendships and individual faith journey.

Over the past 4 years, ministry for me has included the coordination of many special events.
I love planning a party and approach each event as just that, as my philosophy of ministry has determined that any time we meet in Christ's Name - it should be a time of celebration.
Read the Bible.
Jesus went to a lot of parties!
I've enjoyed the challenge of planning these parties on a budget, keeping in mind good stewardship including using up resources we already have on hand.
Recently, I required a total of 22 table centrepieces for 2 different church events, on a limited budget. I also wanted to do something different.
One can only utilize fake flowers and rose bowls for so long!
(Not that there's anything wrong with fake flowers and rose bowls.)
(They're perfectly fine.)
(Okay. I'm tired of fake flowers and rose bowls.)
I went to an idea I had borrowed from a friend back in our CFOT days and used it 2 years ago for a Passover Seder Supper event we held, and again for our Easter Sunday Breakfast.

Gather a group of volunteers to help out and you're gala prep will be ready to go in no time.
Supplies:
8.5" x 11" cardstock
Stamp
Ink
Scrap of cardstock for stamped image
Ribbon
Hole Punch
Scorer
Scissors
Printer
Microsoft Word
Instructions:
(Although I've no doubt you can tell what to do just by looking at them.)
Stamp scraps of cardstock and cut out, as desired, leaving enough room for 1 hole to be punched.
Using Word on your computer, align 8.5" x 11" page in landscape layout and choose 3 columns. Proceed with typing anything and everything you want your centrepiece to say. (You could include graphics and omit the entire stamping part at this point, if you want.)
Print out, score (use ruler if needed) and fold.
Punch 2 holes at the same time 1/2 way down ends.
Punch 1 hole in stamped cardstock piece.
Thread ribbon through all 3 holes and tie in a bow/knot, tight enough that centrepiece will stand on its own.
Voila!
They're high enough to add colour to each table, but low enough that they don't interrupt conversation.
How cute would these be with the person-of-honour's pic on it?
WWJD?
He'd go to a party!
And he'd be the kindest person there.
Finished these cross-stitched magnets just in time to hold the anticipated kids' Easter artwork from church and school.

These cuties were stitched on 14-ct white aida backed with adhesive-backed felt.
Charts are found in here.

Funny Side Note
I had loaned the chart book mentioned above to a friend back in 2005 and then forgot all about it.
She surprised me by mailing it back to me a few weeks ago and it was like my 1st time flipping through it again!

Stitching keeps me sane.
Seriously!
I process so much, mentally, while I'm stitching.
(Sometimes I brood, too, although I try not to.)

Thankful to God for this "pick-it-up-at-anytime" creative outlet.
Happy Easter

In case you can't read the small print, it says:
"I like you so much, I'm sharing my treats!"
These were super easy to put together,
except for the temptation to sample the goods.
Nevertheless, these valentabulous (ya, just made that one up) treat bag toppers are free for you to print and can be found at Living Locurto, along with many, many other neat-o Valentine's Day ideas and fun, everyday printables.

I found a free alphabet pattern here.
It's actually meant for crochet, but worked well for cross-stitch.

I used 16-count aida and 310/349 DMC floss.
The aida is glued to red adhesive-backed felt with an extra dose of Aleene's so that it will last for a while, but won't likely make it as an heirloom for any grandbabies.
Although, won't bookmarks eventually become irrelevant with literature leaning towards wireless e-reading devices?
Shhhh. Don't tell my poor bookmark!

The "frou-frou" ribbon at the top is secured through a grommet, which is as much fun to install as it is to say.
(Frogs don't "ribbit" - they "grommet!")

And here it is in all its glory, being put to use by my hubby inside the book he is currently reading.
Check back soon for more Valentines-ey goodness coming up later this week.
